#edu310 today was my last day going to my placement and I had a very bittersweet moment with the students. All of them decided to make these beautiful cards as well as a gift of oil pastels!! I gave them my gratitude and told them that it was great to work with them :)
#edu310 had my second observation today, and I was way more confident in front of a whole class, teaching a lesson on portraits in the Tim Burton style. My supervisor had great things to say and gave me pretty good criticism to move forward on.
#edu310 Today I got to spend time in the later art classes that I normally don’t get to spend time with. I got to talk to two girls about Parkside since they plan on going too and it was a great experience to talk to them about my experience at Parkside!
#edu310 The 3D art class is focusing on a wired portrait with a really cool watercolor collage background. They were working on warm ups with watercolor and using masking glue, salt and hand sanitizer to experiment with the watercolor. This was really neat to see in person!
#edu310 due to being sick, I didn’t go to my placement this week. However last week, the graphic design students were working with Illustrator to outline architecture and it was really cool seeing the process for the project! I can’t wait to go back and see their progress!
#edu310 This week in the 3D and 6th grade art classes, they are focusing on ceramics! The 3D class is working on coil pots (which I was excited to help them with!) and the 6th grade class is glazing their projects! It’s exciting to watch their creative process :)
@BrockLund4 Pretty cool to see how student approach note taking! It’s great to know that they are learning how to approach note taking and that there’s that middle ground you speak of. :)
#edu310 Today in my placement, a lot of students were having a hard time focusing with their art projects. My mentor teacher did her best to get them back on track, which was interesting to witness. I was also trying my best to help them focus as well.
@dziekanskiemma Glad you enjoy working with younger students! Kindergartners are a lot different than 4th graders, but they are a lot of fun! It can be stressful, but it also can be a big accomplishment to teach them the important aspects of life. :) #edu310
#edu310 Today was my first day meeting with the students in my placement. They are all super respectful towards one another within the classroom. My mentor teacher does a good job keeping the class on track and engages them to keep their interest!
