@mseitz2001 4 quality starts as a team since May 13. Not saying the pen has been good but this is supposed to be an elite rotation in the league and it’s not close
The Pirates have 4 quality starts since May 13th
3 are from Ashcraft and 1 is by Keller.
Their bullpen issues start with the starting pitching not getting enough outs.
@OpenedCreation Yeah I wouldn’t mind Kelly, I know burrows ERA is good but not sure if he will miss enough bats to be successful up here. I think the bigger issue is starting pitching to be honest. Skenes hasn’t been good last 4, Keller is what he is. Jones and Bubba are ?’s
No one wants to say it but if the Cy Young winner wanted to pitch 6 innings it would help out this dumpster fire of the bullpen but yeah blame the manager blame the relievers making league minimum. #WhoIsBillMurphy
Umpires toss Big 12 Player of the Year Landon Hairston for flipping his bat. He will miss tonight’s game if they advance to the regional final against Ole Miss
@OpenedCreation Mostly falls on player no doubt but his arm angle is different this year than last by several degree last I looked and likely led to a down tick in velo. In general I don’t think Murphy has done well. Is it fair? Maybe not, but comes with the job
Massive organizational failure by the Pirates for their best reliever a year ago to be DFA’d before June. This is the right move and he put himself in this position but the job Bill Murphy and his staff have done so far this year has been awful.
ROSTER MOVES: We have ended the rehab assignment of RHP Jared Jones and reinstated him from the 60-day injured list.
RHP Justin Lawrence has been designated for assignment to make room for Jones on the active and 40-man roster
@K5ike3@roddrickheffley@orsonhitchcock Was he as good as he was last year? Probably not but also not as bad to be unpitchable this year. His arm angle was different this year than last and led to a tick down in velo. Ultimately he failed as a pitcher more than the coach but the pirates didn’t do good
@jitty412 At the end of the day the player has to execute it falls on him he’s a professional but his arm angle was different than last year and velo was too. Only so much a pitching coach can do yes but in his limited innings last year he looked like a top 3 RP in sport
@uncleJunior32 Respectfully couldn’t disagree more he’s a great first baseman. Going to scoop more balls than not. He got an in between hop on the Callihan throw which are the most difficult to pick then Triolo threw the other away.
