Hello, hello? Somebody out there?
Need to dust this abandoned account to share the first publication of my PhD thesis in @JEcology!
"Increasing temperature threaten post-fire auto-successional dynamics of a Mediterranean obligate seeder"

So, climate change could interfere with the post-fire regeneration dynamics of this obligate seeder by shortening the temporal window of opportunity for emergence and by increasing the bottleneck effect along the recruitment process in the early demographic recovery of pine.

🔥#Climatechange shortens post-fire temporal window of opportunity for Aleppo #pine#seedling emergence & boosts mortality. 18-month expt shows fewer & weaker seedlings: which fate for post-fire demographic recovery?

The first chapter of my Phd is now available online 🥳🥳🥳

Short-term recovery of post-fire vegetation is primarily limited by drought in Mediterranean forest ecosystems

Hoy estaremos presentando el trabajo de Ana Lucía Méndez sobre el papel de las islas de vegetación no quemada (#fire refugia) en la regeneración de Pinus nigra #adaptafor@ctforestal@ETSEAFIV_UdL
If you are attending the #AEET2023 meeting, make sure to not miss the poster that @Pmaraensis is presenting, showing the results of her study on post-fire Aleppo pine germination after simulated warming!
Floristic surveys are being made repeatedly in the burnt area of Sta Coloma de Queralt (2021). They may provide additional knowledge on the factors driving the dynamics of post-fire communites. Let's see the results...but @Pmaraensis & @Gil_Giiil are making an outstanding job!
My first PhD paper just got published!😙
👉About how latitudinal diversity gradients change in different Amazonian forest types.
👉We found that alpha, beta diversity and dominant patterns were especially different in floodplain forests!🌿🌴

On Thursday, we had to rush away from our permanent plots at the Santa Coloma de Queralt wildfire due to heavy rains.
About one year before, less heavy but as tempestive rains fostered extinguishing this same wildfire.
Happy birthday, regenerating forest! 🌱
