A bunch of folks are asking me what I think about the Andrew Wilson/Candace Owens debate.

I don't usually weigh in on that type of stuff nowadays but I figure it's pretty important.

So, here's my take:

Dexter Taylor, a software engineer, father, and Brooklyn native is currently serving a 10 year sentence in prison for exercising his Second Amendment rights.

The state of New York targeted him for building his own firearms in his own home as a hobby using parts he bought legally online.

He had no criminal record.

In April 2022, a joint ATF/NYPD SWAT team kicked in his apartment door at dawn while he was lying in bed listening to an audiobook.

They swept into his home with guns drawn and seized the rifles and pistols he had assembled.

Ghost guns, they called them. Unlicensed under New York’s absurd and tyrannical rules.

He never sold a single gun.

He never took them out of his home.

He never even fired them.

Yet, New York labeled him a “violent felon."

Then came the sham trial.

Judge Abena Darkeh looked Dexter and his lawyer in the eye and said:

“Do not bring the Second Amendment into this courtroom. It doesn’t exist here. So you can’t argue Second Amendment. This is New York.”

That was it. The Constitution itself was banned from the courtroom.

The jury convicted him on a laundry list of possession charges.

And in May 2024, that same judge slammed him with the maximum: ten years in a maximum-security prison.

Not the minimum. Ten full years.

While actual violent criminals walk the streets every day.

Dexter is still locked up. Still fighting. Still calling it what it is: a political prosecution designed to send a message to every American who dares exercise their rights in a blue state.

The appeals are moving. The legal fund is still open.

If the government can do this to a clean-record software engineer for manufacturing arms in his own home, they can do it to anyone.

This is about more than “ghost guns.”

It's about whether the Second Amendment still means anything.

Dexter Taylor is a political prisoner. Free him.

That means we cannot achieve climate justice without moving away from police and prisons.”
•Sunrise Movement posted, "Today and everyday, we stand with the trans community in the fight against right wing extremists trying to oppress and control trans kids and trans people across the country."

William Lawrence has called to defund the police multiple times.

Please take note: I lost an election last year. My party lost last year. We didn’t riot or disrupt the Inauguration or threaten to torch the state government. We didn’t threaten to murder the very dishonest people who won.

We got right to work trying to win the referendum Democrats designed to stomp on our people.

We campaigned daily without money and TV ads and also went to the courts.

When the courts rejected us and let the obviously illegal referendum continue we didn’t threaten to shoot anyone. We didn’t say we wanted to disbar lawyers or throw out judges- we behaved like civilized people obeying the law.

When we just barely lost the referendum because of huge amounts of out of state money the large pockets of leftists seething with hate in NOVA our people didn’t pour into the streets burning cars or attacking police or chasing the Governor or abusing the drug dealer ghetto leadership of the Democrat legislature.

We waited for the court to rule and hoped they would actually follow the law.

TAKE NOTE: that since Friday- when Democrats lost in court- it hasn’t been unusual for unhinged Democrats to threaten to make the streets “run red with blood” with a violent revolution.

And now the Democrat leadership is discussing throwing out the entire court that didn’t do their bidding.

I don’t admire or respect people who lie and cheat. The civilization we have is dependent on adversaries obeying the law. It’s dependent on a peaceful debate and vote.

All of that is perilously close to collapsing in Virginia and across the nation.

Voters need to pay close attention.

Both sides want to win.
One side will do absolutely anything necessary to do so.

You can’t let the bad and violent guys dominate. What comes next will be awful for everyone. Choose responsible honest people to lead.
