Under the Muizzu administration, our hard earned freedom of expression and media has been pushed back to the pre-2008 era.
The media control bill, and the control commission act as tools for the president to use for suppressing dissent and intimidating independent journalists.
Journalists face constant threats and harassment for speaking out against corruption and government incompetence, and must be protected from state persecution. We must repeal the control bill, encourage self regulated, independent journalism, and create space for free expression.
We must ensure that Article 27 of the Constitution is not merely words on paper, but a lived reality. No journalist should face state-sponsored threats, and no news outlet should operate in the shadow of a shutdown.
A free press is the only path to true accountability. To the journalists on the front lines: we stand with you.

The illustrated book “Crabs at the Lonuziyaaraiy Park” is fascinating. The crabs seem to trace a life path for Starfiesh and Corona. I think it’s a really good book.

Recent reports of the Maldives Police Service raid on Adhadhu are troubling. The UK has consistently raised concerns about media freedom. The raid sits uneasily with Maldives’ commitment to Commonwealth standards. Free and independent media are essential to healthy democracy.
I have joined the MDP to take an active role in driving change. I stand for stronger institutions, greater opportunity, an economy built on dignified, productive work, and a transparent, accountable state. This is a step toward meaningful reform and a better future for our nation
The first ever perfume bar in Addu City was established over three years ago at City Central, Elhedidi Magu.
The shop offers more than 200 inspired fragrances in 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml options. Each perfume is blended instantly on demand and designed to last for several hours.
A balance of luxury and affordability, made accessible to the local community.
I met a young entrepreneur in Addu who is producing and marketing her own brand of perfume. The bottle proudly says ‘Made in Addu’. Her shop, Masva, is on Elha Didi Magu, S. Hithadhoo, Addu City. The perfume is really good.
