PLAYERS: Before you question your playing time, honestly evaluate how you're using your practice time. Make sure that you're bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a team-first mentality to practice. Build good habits in practice. Find ways to be valuable. Make your teammates better.

Uncoachable players feel others owe them something without earning their status, position, or respect. They believe they will get better just because they have "experience", but they never actually learn. They resist someone teaching them because they know enough already.

When coachable players are held accountable, they understand it's for the good of the team and seek to learn from the situation.

Uncoachable players think they're being picked on and play the blame game when held accountable.

PLAYERS: Having a good attitude when you're playing well, winning, getting the minutes you want, or when the refs aren't "picking on you" is easy. But you show what you're really made of when things aren't going well. Have a good attitude regardless of your circumstances.

CAPTAINS: The title of "captain" doesn't make you a good leader or automatically make you a person of influence. Your character, work ethic, servant leadership, and positive attitude will make you a good captain.

PLAYERS: A bad coach doesn't make you have a bad attitude. A good coach doesn't make you have a good attitude. Only you can choose your attitude. Circumstances may make things harder or easier but not impossible or automatic. Your attitude shouldn't be situational.
