@Kestrel_Rose @geoleeny @cascademyco Season is still going strong near Seattle, I bet it’s the same in Oregon too! I think there’s a possibility you could find your first truffle this season. Just try playing the same game in the suitable truffle habitat.

@Kestrel_Rose @geoleeny @cascademyco This is great! A good amount of my training was just around the house under rugs. Tbh if he paws at a rug, he’ll paw in the forest. It’s not too big of a leap taking the game from indoors to outdoors, eventually he’ll paw at a real truffle itself.

@Kestrel_Rose @geoleeny @cascademyco Additional advice that may help him out- be consistent with a marker word. some trainers use clickers, I use “yes!” Or you can stick with “good boy consistency is helpful for him to figure out the game.

But really, you’re both doing great so keep at it!

Penny had a big day yesterday.

We took a prominent PNW Mushroom YouTuber out to our patch. Will link video when it comes out.

We went back later in the day. She found at least 40 quality white truffles, plus another 20 pea-sized.

So proud of her.
