Cabinet considered the 2025 Zimbabwe livelihoods and nutrition assessment report.
-35 percent of adults aged between 18 and 59 are overweight and obese.
-Vitamin A supplementation for children aged 6 to 59 months has surpassed 90 pct.

Earlier today, the FNC Director General Dr. G. D. Kembo visited a livelihoods project in Ward 10, Mbire District. The project supported by the Mbire DFNSC, is empowering local women in mushroom farming, goat breeding and ISALS.

Key takeaways from the National Vulnerability Assessment Committees (NVACs) include:

1️⃣ #NVACs should aim for relevance through being responsive to the policy needs of their countries.
2️⃣ #NVACs must position themselves to inform their National Development Plans.
3️⃣#NVACs need to transition towards a comprehensive approach towards vulnerability.

During the opening remarks this morning, Dr. George D. Kembo, the Chairperson of the SADC RVAC, emphasised the importance of early warning information for informed policy decisions. He urged Member States to expand the RVAA framework, advocating for a multi-dimensional approach that includes both urban and rural vulnerabilities to enhance resilience in the SADC region.
