@SamSethi Absolutely baffling how hosting companies decided having no way to contact an RSS feed owner was a good idea.

One of the stupidest things the Podcast Industry did was remove emails from RSS feeds. Yes Acast was a bad actor spamming podcasters. But now when I have an error with an RSS feed I can't contact the owner.

Equally, if I need to verify a podcaster as the RSS feed owner, I can't validate using their feed email; not without them jumping through 10 hoops to temporarily add back the email with their host.

This podcast has two episodes missing the <itunes:episode Type />. But I can't let them know.

There was a proposal to add an Oauth verification tag (<podcast:verifyOwnership> #534) to allow podcasters to claim their podcast securely. This has gone nowhere!!! #dodo

For 2 years I have asked numerous podcast hosts to work together to help enable this secure method for podcasters to claim their podcast on apps.

Several hosts have expressed an interest and then no action. Hosts don't need this verification so they have no interest but ALL apps need this feature.

How do we fix this self-inflicted problem? #podcasting

The app has been back online for about 12 hours, but our RSS parsers need to catch up to detect the new episodes we missed during the ~24 hour outage.

Also, our search feature is not working, as we have to wait for our search index operation to finish (eta 1-2hrs).
