1811: Pokesdown. The station held the name Boscombe in 1886, then Pokesdown (Boscombe) in 1891, then Pokesdown in 1897, then Pokesdown for Eastern Bournemouth in 1930 before finally settling on Pokesdown.

The Friends of Brockenhurst Station want you to be part of the fun as we celebrate the station’s opening in 1847 with a plaque unveiling, history displays, stalls and brand new artwork. #Railway200

This historic moment kicks off a reset of the railways to improve performance and boost economic growth as part of the Plan for Change.
