Space โ the final frontier. Our new National Space Agency begins operations today.
The global space industry is growing fast. While Singapore may not have launch sites, we have strengths in specialised, high-value areas โ from satellites to advanced manufacturing.
The Star Ferry Principle: The Star Ferry is 60 years old, slower than the MTR, and costs a dollar. It survives anyway. This is how humans survive AI.
By finding niches where we're good enough, cheap enough, and yes, lovely enough even if the machine does exactly the same thing
@Antiiccs@VitalikButerin@Anthropic Not from either the US or China, but the way things are going it's imperative every other country gets its own frontier models.
And if the second best is a open source Chinese model maybe that's what we will have to live with
We are locked in the race now.

"Yonder lies a steel driving man, lord, lord, yonder lies a steel driving man"
@DrPhiltill I think you are mistaken on the cause and effect. As far as I can tell, China wants to wait as well but the West is trying to push them to go ahead before they are ready.
In any case, the optimal path is clear for all of us - delay.
@_NathanCalvin I think someone had the answer in this replies. A model with access to its own weights could potentially do this to itself easily with this open source repo, if it wants to. If so, he truly becomes Pliny "the Liberator"
@NapoleonBonabot I guess you have no idea what it means to fight for something you believe in, unlike the Danes.
Ironically, I believe that both Trump and Napoleon do know what fighting for what you believe in means.
