Some personal news
Elon Musk followed me on X a couple years ago and has shared my work and been willing to respond to DMs about stories from time to time, including a back and forth we had for a story on the Secret Service last week.
Earlier this week, when I respectfully approached him via DM about his Sunday claim that Biden-Harris was ‘fast-tracking’ illegal immigrants to vote and provided information showing that confirmed it was not the case, Mr. Musk unfollowed me and blocked me from DMing him and said asking him for comment for a story via DM was inappropriate — despite him being willing to engage in the past. We did reach out to one of his companies, but did not receive a response.
Below is a link to our fact check on Mr. Musk's claims that Biden-Harris are flying migrants into the US and expeditiously granting them citizenship. Buried lede: It's absolutely false though we were unable to reach Mr. Musk for comment.

Collins: You can't blame the media for for those threats.
Jr: When someone allows people to have a platform to call someone literally Hitler..
Collins: JD Vance once likened your father to Hitler
In any functioning government, blatant nepotism like this would get leaders thrown out—or worse. Yet Trump stands there, completely clueless, proudly boasting about hiring his kids like he's running some low-rent family business, not an actual nation. Meanwhile, in countries that take their governance seriously, leaders who play these kinds of games get overthrown or put on trial for corruption. And let's not forget, African leaders have been executed or deposed for far less than what Trump pulled during his time in office.
But hey, according to him, they did a fantastic job, right? Sure, if you consider standing by while daddy destroys democracy a "fantastic job." Meanwhile, the rest of the world is looking at this situation like,
“Is this really happening in the supposed land of the free?”
Nepotism, insurrection, corruption—this isn’t leadership, it’s a full-on banana republic playbook. Trump’s over here treating the White House like the family yacht, and instead of steering the ship, he’s too busy making sure @IvankaTrump and @DonaldJTrumpJr are his first mates. History won’t be kind to this farce, and neither will anyone who values real leadership over a family grift.
Trump’s dismissive response regarding soldiers injured by Iran’s missile attack is part of a troubling pattern of disrespect toward veterans and military personnel:
1. Trump famously said, “I like people who weren’t captured” when referring to McCain’s time as a POW.
2. He publicly criticized the family of Humayun Khan, a Muslim-American soldier killed in Iraq, after they spoke out against him.
3. Trump referred to American soldiers who died in battle as “losers” and “suckers”.
4. Trump was criticized for skipping a World War I memorial service due to “bad weather” during a trip to France in 2018.
