Ipinagdiriwang ang School Safety and Accident Prevention Month tuwing Hulyo, alinsunod sa Proclamation No. 115-A, s. 1966, na nakapokus kung paano pa mas masisiguro ang seguridad at kaligtasan ng bawat mag-aaral sa loob at labas ng paaralan.

Sa murang edad pa lamang ng mga bata ay mahalagang maturuan na sila ng kahalagahan nang pagsunod sa iba't-ibang alituntunin para sa kanilang kaligtasan at nang maiwasan ang mga aksidente sa daan.

Ang MMDA ang namamahala sa MMDA Children’s Road Safety Park na isang educational park na makatutulong sa mga bata na mapag-aralan ang tungkol sa batas trapiko at disiplina sa pamamagitan ng tamang paggamit ng kalsada. Ang Children’s Road Safety Park ay matatagpuan sa Adriano Street sa Malate, Manila.

Kasalukuyang nagsasagawa ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) ng 2-day vehicle registration caravan sa MMDA Motorcycle Riding Academy sa Pasig City .

Simula kahapon, Hunyo 20, hanggang ngayong araw ay nasa 59 na pribadong sasakyan na ang sumailalim sa emission testing, insurance, at vehicle registration.

Maliban dito, sumailalim din ang 42 na kawani ng MMDA sa 2-day theoretical driving course ng LTO para magkaroon ng student driver's license.

Layon ng aktibidad na mapadali at mailapit sa mga kawani ng MMDA ang pagpaparehistro ng kanilang mga sasakyan at motorsiklo, alinsunod sa batas.

U-turn slot under the EDSA Quezon Avenue flyover, both northbound and southbound, will only be passable to light vehicles. Buses, trucks, and other vehicles with height of 2.50 meters and above will be prohibited starting 7am on Saturday, June 22.

The closure of the U-turn slot is to give way to the installation of scaffolding under the flyover which will limit the vertical clearance to 2.5 meters only.

The activity is part of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ on-going project of retrofitting/strengthening of permanent bridges, including the EDSA Q. Ave. flyover.

Affected buses and trucks are advised to take the following alternate routes:

From EDSA Southbound:
- Left turn to Quezon Ave.
- Left at Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago Ave. (formerly Agham Road)
- Left at North Ave.
- To Mindanao Ave. or EDSA
- To destination

From EDSA Northbound:
- Straight towards North Ave.
- Take a U-turn infront of Quezon City Academy
- To destination

The retrofitting works is expected to be completed until August 4.
