Honored to speak in Texas today about keeping our kids safe at school.

The National Guard troops who keep DC safe are heroes. Most of them have left families behind to serve on this mission and are overly friendly to the community here. I’m wishing this guard member a full recovery from this shooting!

This vigil brings me back to Parkland in 2018. It's heartbreaking that this keeps happening, protecting children from this evil is a top priority. Thank you @FoxNews for the updates. I'll be praying this 7-year-old recovers and goes on to live a healthy life. 🙏

Hundreds gather in heartbreak as a community mourns the four lives lost in a deadly attack at Silver Rail Elementary School.

Among those killed are 5-year-old Rhoam Summer, two boys ages 8 and 11, and 25-year-old teacher Megan Lambert. The families of the two other boys have asked authorities to keep their names private.

Meanwhile, Fox News confirms 54-year-old teacher Becky Drury remains hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a 7-year-old child is in serious but stable condition.

"We live in a truly special community," Drury's husband says, thanking neighbors for their overwhelming kindness and support.

As a memorial continues to grow outside the school, families are remembering the lives lost and honoring the brave people who stepped in to help.

[Fox News @FoxNews]

JUST IN: The heroic bystander who took down a 16-year-old gunman during a deadly Oregon elementary school shooting has been identified as 36-year-old Kaylub Giamanco.

Giamanco, whose two daughters attend Silver Rail Elementary School, saw the suspect shoot at a truck before blasting through the glass panes of the school’s double doors to get inside.

Police say the teenager entered a classroom and fired as many as 15 rounds. Giamanco grabbed a legally owned .40-caliber pistol from his car and rushed into the building, following the sounds of gunfire.

When he reached the classroom, he found the suspect struggling with a teacher who had thrown her cellphone at the gunman and tackled him.

Giamanco then shot him multiple times, ending the attack.

Three children and a teacher were killed, while two others were injured.

New details are emerging about the father’s actions and what his family says about the tragedy: https://t.co/MvY6R3fBSS | @foxandfriends

@davidwbrill Yes it’s super sad stuff

It's hard to look at these pictures and read that a five-year-old was murdered at school yesterday. I will never stop working to make sure headlines like this become a thing of the past.

.@POTUS on the Oregon school shooting: "As bad as it was, we had a great hero that went in and did the business... Thank God we had him, otherwise it would've been much worse. It's a terrible thing, but thank goodness for a man that had a gun and knew how to use it."

[Hunter Pollack @PollackHunter]

President Trump is 100% right: we need more good guys with guns to stop the bad guys with guns. This man is a hero and deserves to be recognized as one.

[Nick Sortor @nicksortor]

🚨 AWESOME! President Trump just gave a BIG shoutout to armed hero Kaylub Giamanco who ran into an Oregon school and NEUTRALIZED a shooter

"Thank GOODNESS for a man that had a gun and knew how to use it."

"There was a great hero, and as bad as it was, we had a GREAT HERO that went in and did the business."

We need MORE good guys with guns 🇺🇸

So happy for my friend @alexbruesewitz and all his success. I've watched his journey since 2018, and it's been quite the climb. Well deserved. Congratulations, brother!

One of the best defenses against an active shooter is a good guy with a gun and today in Bend, Oregon, an armed citizen stopped a school shooter. Tragically, three children and a teacher were killed. My prayers are with their families as they mourn.

[Nick Sortor @nicksortor]

🚨 BREAKING: A bystander had already KlLLED the shooter at the Bend elementary school before police even arrived

And even CNN is admitting this would've been MUCH WORSE had that good guy with a gun NOT been there:

"We can only imagine, had that person with a firearm NOT been there and taken that action... the fatalities and the casualties could be worse. This could've gone on longer!"

This morning, I hit the mats with the D.C. National Guard’s Modern Combatives Program and @USCG for Brazilian jiu-jitsu training.

Their core focus is to build combat readiness, sharpen judgment under pressure, and strengthen the warrior ethos.

It was an honor to train alongside these men and women. Thank you for keeping D.C. and the Homeland safe.
