My wife Delia and I went to our regular 12:30 Mass in Tuam Cathedral today. Fr. Mark Quinn delivered a homily that struck me deeply because of the message and appeal it contained. This evening I asked Fr. Mark for his permission to put it out on this platform and he agreed, it’s a message that should be considered by those in a position of influence in Ireland.
WELCOME TO IRELAND:
If you're Irish, you can be jailed for providing accommodation on your own land for your family due to being denied planning permission and retention. Yet, it's acceptable for the government to house hundreds of strangers from another part of the world in a nearby warehouse without planning permission or a legal right to object. You couldn't make this up.
I just want to know where these airlines are that apparently let you get on a plane without a passport or other documentation, because I've certainly never encountered one. How is it even possible?!

@Niall_Boylan Niall, I worked with migrants and Refugees >25 years. A real refugee has no time, no money to escape to Europe. 95% Stay in neighbouring countries. A real refugee never ever gets rid of his documents, and proof what he suffered, he needs all in order to get his "refugee status" !
You couldn’t actually make up this nonsense anymore. When Irish people were living in tents along canals a few years ago, not only did the government not pay for them, but the council was quick to remove and destroy them. What the government parties are doing with your taxpayers’ money is beyond reckless. We need to defund the NGOs that are supporting this madness. This government and their opposition parties, including Sinn Féin, Labour, Soc Dems, and PBP, are all responsible and need to be voted out in all the elections
Ireland is now officially the most expensive country in the EU.
Prices here are 40% above the EU average. Rip-off Republic alive and well under FF, FG & Greens.
We need a cost of living revolt like we saw with the water charges uprising.
