In our Op-ed, we quote the Expert Advisory Panel on Firearms that says legal guns like SKS variants share same characteristics as prohibited firearms - the OPPOSITE of saying SKS variants are prohibited (they SHOULD be). Sad that you publish a report that actually makes a false claim in response to a #GunTroll generated @CommunityNotes that doesn't even negate the essence of what we wrote (the note is about the colloquial use of the term "loophole"). Please correct or delete your article.

Thousands of people lined the streets of downtown Montreal on Tuesday as a procession honouring slain police officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane moved slowly toward the Bell Centre.

The 34-year-old SPVM constable was killed on June 22 while responding to reports of an armed man in Côte-des-Neiges.

Behind a wreath of white flowers, the family of Benredouane led the march through the city’s core. Officers stood at attention as the march passed, some raising salutes, others wiping away tears.
