@ImRobWalker Take one minute at a time, then hour by hour. Rest and regroup. You are in shock still. You don’t need to do anything but breathe and just be. You will get through this and strength will come x
#Concussion/Brain Injury 🧠
Know the score 👍
Never let a player with a suspected Brain Injury continue playing.
Never rely on a suspected Brain Injured players ability to decide if they remain on or not.
You wouldn’t let a drunk driver continue to drive would you 👀
@drlouisenewson I am still stunned by how many women on my menopause support group on FB (4.7k) still denied the option. We see so many women in clinic with joint pain, inflammation, lack of sleep/repair also told incorrect info. Agree its a mix of approaches & HRT should be on the table for all
This study found that ~70% of athletes were asymptomatic on pre-season concussion baseline testing. Which means 30% of athletes WERE symptomatic. With baseline testing, we know who these athletes are so that we can best manage their RTP.

Are you a school, Uni, college or ed establishment, managing concussions in sports? Complete Concussions Inc. have put together all their tools to make reporting, communicating and managing concussions in an easy to use sideline app and software portal. @theJeremyVine@bbcradio2
if these injuries are MANAGED correctly with more education for all stakeholders holders, baseline testing for more objective return to sport measures, clinical management and water tight return to play protocols, that we are providing a much safer sport. @JeremyVineOn5@BBCRadio2
Yet more inappropriate and scaremongering from the press regarding rugby in schools being child abuse. We know the benefits of sports for health and mental wellbeing. We also know from the research that lots of work is being done to reduce injury risk.
@bbc5live@NickyAACampbell No need for scary headlines, BUT, it’s all about how head injuries are managed. Education for parents, coaches and safeguarding officers, clear pathways for removal and return to play, COMMUNICATION TO ALL, access 2 trained clinicians 4 decision on RTP @CCMConcussions has it all!
I've been asked to clarify:
Women aged 50-59 who are on or have taken HRT are much less likely to die of #breastcancer (~70% less) than never users
Reduced risk of breast cancer mortality in women using postmenopausal hormone therapy (Mikkola et al 2016)

@thomas_jesson @camtudor After 32 years in practice in various forms and thousands of happy patients , I potentially have lots to give back, but shy away for that very reason… so will fade out of the profession eventually with all I’ve learnt stored under the plinth.
