According to U.S. Army Fort Ord Cleanup, a controlled detonation of suspected Unexploded Ordnance items is scheduled for July 23, 2024 between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM within the Fort Ord restricted Munitions Response Site - Bureau of Land Management (Impact Area).
The detonation will occur in the vicinity of Nowhere Road.
Local residents, municipal activities, public roadways, and commuter traffic will not be impacted by this operation. The detonation safety exclusion zone (radius) of 1,873 ft for the largest item is fully contained.

Be advised: the Presidio of Monterey will conduct a full-scale emergency-preparedness exercise with community partners to test and evaluate the installation’s response to an emergency on Friday, July 12.
