Tinubu’s two-year achievements outshines PDP’s first eight years — Bwala

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has claimed that the President’s accomplishments in his first two years in office outweigh the achievements of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its initial eight years in power from 1999 to 2007.

In a post on his X handle on Friday, Bwala argued that Tinubu took office under far more challenging circumstances than the PDP faced when it assumed power in 1999, yet has recorded notable progress in the economy, security, and governance.

He noted that unlike the PDP administrations of Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, which benefited from foreign debt forgiveness, Tinubu’s government has had to manage debt repayments.

Bwala also highlighted challenges in the oil sector, stating, “From 1999 to 2007, our oil output could be likened to a miracle compared to what President Tinubu has had to grapple with.”

Bwala wrote on X: "What President Bola Tinubu #officialABAT has achieved with our country in just two years has surpassed what PDP achieved in 8 years from 1999-2007:

"Facts: From 1999-2007 our foreign debts were forgiven, In PBATs case he has had to pay them

From 1999-2007 Our oil output can be likened to a miracle as compared to what PBAT has had to grapple with

"From 1999-2007 The whole world was looking to our direction with sympathy, support and freebies having come out of military interregnum. In PBATs case he is confronted with the challenge of having to prove himself, and he did with the economy
