SMU lacrosse is going to easily separate itself as a contender.
The sell:
-No snow
-Unreal city
-More fun
-Be a founding member of a team
-Already got $20M in the bank
Lax teams like Syracuse should be very worried.
I am hearing of a potential super team being created in Dallas Texas. Keep an eye out for some massive names to drop as 5th year transfer class has enough talent to compete for a Natty year 1. Once everything goes live we will see some names drop
The money at SMU is no joke 💰
Princeton Men’s Lacrosse alumni are going to want to get their checkbooks ready and pick up the phone to make some calls
The reigning National Champs need to make sure they don’t let SMU come in and take their HC. This is going to get juicy

“Oh my gosh, the ACC is so bad. Unrank Louisville, still a bad win for Miami, keep Wake Forest unranked.”

Louisville:
• Lost by 3 points to Ole Miss on a walk-off field goal in a game where they gifted the Rebels two TDs
• Beat #16 SMU by 10 yesterday
LSU:
• Lost by 8 points to Ole Miss
• Beat unranked Clemson & LA Tech
Why is #16 Louisville 6 spots behind #10 LSU in today’s AP poll.
I’ve seen a lot of talk about how SMU hasn’t established much of a run game to this point in the season. Although true, we haven’t seen a ton of “rushing attempts” in general, there are two main reasons why I believe this to be the case:
1. We simply havent had to run the ball to move the ball down the field. FSU, clearly was vulnerable in the secondary, and the UC Davis game, ultimately was a game where KJ could do whatever he wanted.
2. Rhett Lashlee loves to utilize the short passing game. High percentage throws, usually a variation of a screen, that relies on YAC. These types of plays, while obviously showing up as pass attempts in the box score, supplement the run game immensely. Rhett uses a lot of creativity drawing these plays up. He mixes up looks by getting the ball to a lot of different weapons, whether it’s Derrick McFall and Dramekco Green at RB, Randy Pittman at TE, or one of the many dangerous WRs. You can see some examples below.
Saying “SMU can’t run the ball” is a statement based completely on box score watching.
On Saturday, I expect to see a lot of the same short pass game scheming that Rhett loves. However, I thoroughly believe, if needed, these SMU RBs can also show out in a typical run game, mainly Kendrick Raphael.
