Peel District School Board honours #IndigenousHistoryMonth. All PDSB school sites and administrative buildings will fly the flag of the Mississauga of the Credit First Nation. As treaty partners, we acknowledge we are on the treaty lands of the Miichi Saagig Nishnaabeg.
#PrideMonth celebrates the history, achievements and diversity of the Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ community. It honours the struggles and victories of the community in their fight for equal rights. PDSB is committed to improving the educational experiences of gender diverse students.
Tomorrow is International Day of Pink, some schools will recognize the day on Apr 11 and participate in a board wide event.
We stand with the Two-Spirit LGBTQIA+ community and will continue to speak up against bullying, discrimination, and all forms of homophobia & transphobia.
Dropped by Erin Centre Middle School - a school I represented for 8 years, this evening and said hello to parents & staff at the anti-Islamophobia event.
With the rise of hate in schools, we must continue to educate not despite of the difficulties but precisely because of the difficulties.
Also, I miss you #PeelFam!
Today on #TransDayOfRemembrance, we remember those whom we've lost to transphobic violence and discrimination. As we honour their lives and remember those who might otherwise be forgotten, let's continue our commitment to achieve equity and inclusion for all.
Engaging student voice is not just about being willing to hear what students have to say. It's about transforming education in response to what students have to say. If all we're doing is hearing what they have to say, we're manipulating, not engaging.
This month we celebrate and honour Indigenous History Month & the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community together for #WorldPrideMonth. You are strong, resilient and you belong here.
Share these uplifting messages with your community! #UnitedWeShine
Across Canada and worldwide, what we are witnessing is an alarming trend of 2SLGBTQI+ hate, conservatism and bigotry
disguised as concern for children. We must not allow human rights to be rolled back. Creating a safer inclusive space and #onted school starts with you! #onpoli
