For years, the Tourism Department has spoken about promoting tourism and exploring new destinations. But when it comes to Poonch, the promotion remains difficult to see.
The result?
Lost opportunities.
Lost visitors.
Lost economic potential for local communities.
Poonch is blessed with breathtaking landscapes, lush meadows, snow-capped mountains, and immense tourism potential.
Yet, despite possessing some of the most stunning natural beauty in Jammu & Kashmir, Poonch continues to receive little visibility in promotional initiatives.
This is no longer just grief. It is exhaustion. Exhaustion from repeating the same prayers, the same protests, the same demands for justice after every daughter lost. People are not only mourning Iqra Firdous โ they are mourning the collapse of trust.

A community is protesting , a family is waiting for answers . But there is still no coverage from main stream media . Today ,We ask Mainstream media , why this case hasn't received the attention it deserves.
The silence from mainstream media is deafening.

For months, residents of Poonch have been travelling on roads filled with potholes and poor surfaces. Complaints were raised repeatedly, yet many of these roads remained untouched.
The comparison shown in this post is simple:
One road was repaired.
Another road, just as important for local residents, remains neglected.
The question is not why these roads were repaired.
Iqra Firdous, a young girl from Arai, Poonch, was reported missing on 30 May 2026. Reports indicate that an FIR, including kidnapping-related allegations, was registered as search efforts continued. Days later, her body was recovered from the Sathra River.
Today, we are not here to spread rumours or draw conclusions. We stand with her family in their grief and in their demand for truth.
A thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation is essential. Every question deserves an answer. Every family deserves justice
