@DragonQuest I'm disappointed. The texture has a feeling of AI, and the frame drop is obvious. The setting is not as attractive as the first version at all. The protagonist looks like an addict.
Subject: An Urgent Plea from Chinese Players: Bypassing NetEase’s Scandal to Honor a Real-Life Hero with a Doomfist Skin
Dear Aaron Keller and the Overwatch Development Team,
We are writing to you today not just as passionate Overwatch players from China, but as believers in the core soul of this game: "The world could always use more heroes."
Recently, the relaunch of the Chinese server reached its 10th-anniversary celebration. However, what was supposed to be a heartwarming event turned into a massive public relations disaster managed by our regional publisher, NetEase (LeiHuo). Under the guise of a "Wish-Granting" event, they rigged the reward—a lavish, pre-arranged wedding—to benefit an internal contracted artist with close ties to the company. NetEase's blatant nepotism has deeply hurt the Chinese player base, showing a complete disregard for fair play and the true spirit of Overwatch.
But this letter is not just to complain about NetEase. It is a plea to help us remember a real hero who represents the very best of our community.
While NetEase was busy spending resources on a rigged wedding for an insider, the Chinese community was rallying around a player named "刹那抓住了未来" (Chana). Recently, a devastating fire broke out in Chana’s home. Knowing the extreme danger, he rushed into the flames without hesitation and successfully rescued his grandmother and sister. Tragically, Chana suffered horrific, life-altering burns and was left with severe disabilities. He is a dedicated Doomfist main—a hero who, in the game, fights with a strong fist, and in real life, used his own hands to shield his family from death.
Our community was so moved by his heroism that we privately raised over 300,000 RMB to support his medical bills. We did this ourselves because our local publisher failed to show any care for the people who truly matter.
Overwatch has a beautiful history of honoring real-life heroes. We will never forget how you commemorated Wu Hongyu in Lijiang Tower with the phrase "Heroes Never Die." We are begging Team 4 to do it again.
Please, look past the corporate bureaucracy and toxic nepotism of NetEase LeiHuo. Stand with the ordinary Chinese players. We humbly request that the Blizzard Overwatch team create a commemorative or charity skin for Doomfist to honor Chana’s bravery. Let his heroism be immortalized in the game he loves, proving to players worldwide that the Overwatch spirit is still alive, even when regional corporate greed tries to suffocate it.
We understand that the Chinese server has only recently returned, and you may wish to avoid straining your relationship with the local operator. However, by taking a stand, you might actually inspire NetEase to improve its internal culture and accountability from within. If Overwatch truly is a game meant to celebrate heroes, then a player like Chana deserves that title more than anyone else. At such a monumental milestone, we deeply hope you will choose to stand with the players.
Every word I have stated here can be fully verified within the Chinese community. We beg you to look past the corporate narrative and see the true, genuine voice of Chinese players.🥺
Thank you for listening to the true voice of the Chinese community.
Sincerely,
The Overwatch Chinese Player Community
@WarnTV The most ridiculous thing about you Westerners is that you praise your own achievements after morally kidnapping others, and you still think that you have made something better.
