BREAKING: Trump asks Supreme Court to revive his lawsuit against Hillary Clinton & James Comey over alleged efforts to discredit his 2016 presidential campaign.
Have you seen and forwarded AG @BrennaBird that @Kalshi and these better markets are breaking the laws against @ZachLahn? Keep in mind Kalshi recently lost to Iowa in litigation to promote their platform in the state.
Kalshi is telling Iowa Rob Sand has an 89% chance to win. Its own page shows him at about 51% in the polls. That number is being used against your ticket. Three reasons it is illegal to sell it that way in Iowa:
1. It is an unlicensed wager. A Sand contract pays $1 if a Democrat is inaugurated and $0 if not. Iowa only allows that kind of bet with a Racing and Gaming license. Kalshi has none. Judge Locher already refused to block Brenna Bird from enforcing Iowa gambling law. The September order was about sports. The Sand market is the election bet the state has not tested yet.
2. Calling the price a โchanceโ is the deceptive act. Iowa Code 714.16 is Birdโs tool, and she does not need the sports case to use it. Kalshi posts 79, 81, 88, now 89 as Sandโs chance. A contract price is a last trade on about $1.4 million in volume. Polls are NYT/Siena 52-41, Fox 53-44, Marist 54-42. Trump carried Iowa by 8 and by 13. A lead is not an 89% lock.
3. The book is thin enough to lean on, then republished as the race. That is a CFTC duty, not Birdโs, but it is the document request: who holds the open Sand interest, and whether a few accounts are holding 89 cents while the politics account calls it a chance.
The ask is simple. Have Bird open the consumer-fraud file and demand a corrective statement: the figure is a price, not a forecast. Do not let an unlicensed market call the governorโs race over
I donโt mean offense when I say this.
Our founding fathers were not Jewish. They were not Muslim. They were not Hindu.
Our founding fathers were Christian men. They built this country on the back of the Bible, and we should keep it that way.
