@RoyalMailHelp No post for nearly 2 weeks. Waited an hour to get through to the customer services call centre, only to be cut off. Seeing postmen everywhete, just no post... CR0 area.
@BarryLoser Thanks Jim. Do you take a scene and think of all the funny things that could possible happen, or does it just flow? When I'm trying to get from A to B, I find I'm concentrating so much on the plot, I lose focus on the humour and slapstick.
@BarryLoser Jim! I've been a massive fan of your writing for a few years now. Have you got any good tips when writing humour for kids pls? I spend a lot of time with my target age group (7 -9), and have written several drafts of my ms, but I just can't get the humour right!
With #MiltonTheMighty only a month away, I am happy to say that the teeniest super-hero spider will also be available as an e-book from: Blackwells

My original ms included characters taken to a world where everything was pretty random. It was suggested that as the characters are transported to a new world via a toilet, the new world should be toilet themed.
@pennyanne771 Hi Penny, lovely masterclass on Sat. If the characters from a book are transported to another world, can that world be random (I'm thinking Narnia, Oz) or must there be links to the real world i.e. Wed Wabbit?
@JenniSpangler1 65? Wow, that was a lot. Rejection is part and parcel of being a writer, so we all have to get used to it. Nice to know that all entries had potential. ❤️
@Isobellelans I'm much better at telling stories. I can make up all sorts of stuff on the fly. Putting it down on paper is much harder. It's like I use a different part of my brain. Maybe I should just create audio books 🤔😊
Seeing a lot of 'aspiring' writers in peoples bios applying for #WriteMentor.
You wrote a book, that's not aspiring, that's writing.
YOU'RE A WRITER! ✍️
Aspiring is all those people who sit around and discuss writing a book…you are DOING it!
OWN IT! ❤️
I find myself skimming query letters to get to the pages for this very reason. Don't feel like you have to have a perfect query to apply to #WriteMentor.
Another #WriteMentor reminder (especially to the 150 of you who have applied already!) to send and get away from Twitter, the hashtag and your inbox.
I wrote this blog for others, but I am going to take my own advice right now, too, and step away. ❤️

@FinlaysonPalmer Not sure if this one has already been asked, but what would you like to see in the query letter? Something more personal about the writer? #WriteMentor
