@stephstwogirls Private dx was needed due to failure of the NHS to recognise the PDA profile in our area, and as he presented atypically didn’t dx autistic. We asked twice for out of area referrals to the Lorna Wing Centre which were declined and so we ended up going private £1500.
@SusanLiverman2 I dont know how you do it along the way. I never managed that, I just kept ploughing forwards using the stress, and anger at the system to propel me forwards. Once it was all finished it took me years to heal and stop feeling so angry. Not convinced it entirely gone away tbh
@SmartTalkers For clarity my comment when retweeting this was a flippant one about wanting to see the data. If there even were any data collected, it would show this approach to be in effective at best.
I'd like to see the data on how actually effective this approach is with SEND kids whose difficulties are anxiety led and/or due to needs failing to be met in school or not being provided a suitable provision.
Your school offers 'parenting training', but it's an approach not recommended for kids with PDA autism. If you turn it down it looks like you haven't accepted help, undermining any subsequent request. What do you do?

Good news from the High Court: local authorities can no longer delay updating EHC plans for months on end. Draft amended plan must be issued within 4 weeks of the annual review, with the final amended plan issued within 12 weeks of the annual review. https://t.co/xzSdx9eYna
