6. Samsung Users: Use This Hidden Cleanup Menu

If you own a Samsung device:

Open the Phone app and dial:

*#9900#

A hidden menu called SysDump will appear.

Tap:

Delete dumpstate/logcat

This removes old diagnostic logs and system reports that have accumulated over time.

It won't affect your apps, photos, contacts, messages, or settings.

Some users recover a few hundred megabytes.

Others recover 1–2GB.

If you're not using Samsung, skip this step.

✅ Clear app cache — 5–10GB+
✅ Clean WhatsApp media — 3–6GB
✅ Empty Gallery Trash — 1–3GB
✅ Remove ghost app files — 1–5GB
✅ Delete .thumbnails — 1–5GB
✅ Samsung SysDump cleanup — 500MB–2GB

Potential total recovery: 15–30GB

All without deleting the photos, apps, chats, or files you actually care about.

4. Remove Ghost Files From Uninstalled Apps

This is where things get interesting.

You uninstall an app and assume everything is gone.

Not always.

Android often leaves behind leftover files, cache, settings, game data, and other junk.

Check:

File Manager → Internal Storage → Android → Data

and

File Manager → Internal Storage → Android → OBB

You'll likely find folders belonging to apps you've already uninstalled months ago.

Some can be hundreds of megabytes. Others can be several gigabytes.

Delete folders belonging to apps that are no longer installed.

They're just leftovers Android forgot to clean up.
