Y'know, they say that summoned minions can sometimes show symptoms of their owner's true desire.
Thankfully, I never have to deal with that since my minions have their own personalities and desires.
Figures. This blade has been rotting in my closet for the better part of the last decade. Same as all my other neglected weapons.
[ They fish in their pocket for a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from their brow. ]
Ehh... D'ya want a real answer or the one I tell everyone?
Itβs the rust and the way it sings. The bladeβs voice is old, tired, and out of practice.
[ Under the steel plate on his face, Lance raises an eyebrow. ]
A fencer ey? That explains how ya hold it. What made you stop?
You know, Grandpa... I used to be a fencer.
There was a club in my city that I used to frequent often for tournaments and the like...
[ Grimoire pauses for a moment to catch their breath, sheathing the sword on their belt. ]
Hah! What gave away its age? The smell of rust or what?
[ Grimoire folds one behind their back and starts thrusting the sword through the air again. Several lunges are thrown out with the awkward familiarity of someone whose duelist talent has atrophied from years of neglect. ]
[ mumble mumble mumble ]
... The price of becoming a godly being...
... The price of freedom from the rules of mortality and society...
... Isn't the price of something like that completely worth it..?
@LaserEC I don't think you can. That is the burden of omnipotence, isn't it? The loss of relatability.
Like how a child can not understand the feelings of a worker in an ant hill, a god can not possibly understand the woes of a mortal.
I dunno... Food for thought or whatever.
Truthfully no one gives a shit about the difference between a "smallsword" and a "rapier". Even historical records of these things aren't really consistent but whatever.))
Smallsword more stabby stabby thrust
Rapier bigger hand guard more stabby thrusty slashy.
Ok?))
[ There's a slight falter in their breathing when the man suddenly speaks. Certainly, it was an awful surprise for Grimoire. They had been so absorbed in this sudden whim that they had failed to notice the blind old grandpa's arrival. ]
Ah... You think so? Perhaps that's why ...
[ Then there was the weapon itself. Swords have a certain way of cutting through the air, clean and efficient. Yet this one more so ripped and teared through it. Probably should fix up the blade for them⦠]
Youβre stepping too short when you go to strike.
Rather fun fact, smallswords are similar to rapiers they just have more aura πππβοΈβοΈβοΈ))
They're primarily thrusting weapons though Grimoire's smallsword has a diamond cross-section so it probably can slash if sharpened it just wouldn't be a very strong slashing weapon))
