Maybe my search results are incorrect, but Ontario's 2024 GDP per capita comes back at ~$74k CAD. Roughly equal to $59k USD, compared to Mississippi's 2024 GDP of ~$56k USD. Factor in Ontario's substantially higher cost of living, and I don't see how the average income household in Ontario is financially better off than one in Mississipi.
