The world of hockey has sadly lost another icon. Cliff Fletcher carried himself with class and dignity, and he had a smile for everyone he met. He was one of Bill Torrey's best hockey friends, and when the two were together there would be belly laughs!

Happy birthday to the greatest team sport athlete in my lifetime. Bobby Orr revolutionized a sport...spurred the growth of hockey in New England via indoor/outdoor rink & youth league expansion. Speaking of expansion, pre-Bobby, the NHL had 6 teams. 10 yrs later, 18; 11 yrs 21!

I'm saddened by this one. Jay & I crossed paths for first time when I was cutting my teeth w/ @NYIslanders & he was doing same as a young agent under the tutelage of legendary Art Kaminsky. He was a strong advocate for his clients & a solid human!

IMO, players' unions suffer from too small of a pool to draw from. Not many people in this world with the experience needed to run MLBPA. A la Marvin Miller, candidate doesn't need to be a lawyer.
