Exactly. The issue is not that people are required to believe every BL pair is real. The issue is the automatic dismissal. When a man and woman grow close after working together, people accept that feelings can develop naturally. But when it’s two men in BL, suddenly every smile, every care, every private-looking moment is reduced to “fanservice” or “marketing.”
Of course fanservice exists, and of course fans should not force a narrative. But it’s also not logical to act like genuine feelings are impossible just because they are both men or because they work in BL. Human connection does not stop existing because cameras are involved. Coworkers can become friends, partners, or even fall in love. That possibility should not only be accepted when the couple is heterosexual.
