Today, new ProPublica reporting tells the story of yet another tragic, preventable death under a state abortion ban—this time, Texas’ S.B. 8. In 2021, Josseli Barnica, a young Houston mother, could not get the lifesaving care she needed from a hospital during a miscarriage.
