KOSHISH directed by Gulzar is one of the best films of the 70s. It is a touching story of a deaf & mute couple who struggle through life, but are happy in their own world.

It is a very sweet simple story and when the couple played by Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan are happy, you are happy for them. And when they go through a tragedy, you really feel for them.

The acting by the lead pair is amazing and feels very natural. The other actors like Asrani, Om Shivpuri, Dina Pathak & Master Chintu etc are very good as well. Even Dilip Kumar makes a special appearance in this gem of a film!

The film was a hit in the cinemas and the audience and critics both liked it very much. For me, while watching the film, even though the characters had a disability, I didn't really notice that. I noticed 2 innocent and pure souls given the respect and treated sensitively by Gulzar's direction.

I doubt these kind of films will be made today, but they should as there is a audience out there who love to watch good content. If you have seen this, let me know what you think. 🙏🏾
