A can of Fanta sold in London has 63 calories. Buy the same brand in India, and it contains three times as much sugar. It also includes artificial dye, whose presence in food products in Europe requires a prominent health warning.
In India, the colorant’s presence is noted merely in small print on the back of the can. That suits some of the world’s biggest companies, which have long resisted Indian efforts to mandate nutritional warnings on the front of packaged products https://t.co/skAERVVhl9
By now, most people would have seen this video & know who Tinkle Gongo from Itanagar is.
Almost every media outlet has covered her story.
But her spirited pushback against an insult & her confident assertion-“Hum bhi India hai”-are reason enough for her to still be my inspiration for starting the week off well.
Thank you, Tinkle.

Singapore just went all in on birth rates
Fertility fell to a record-low 0.87 in 2025. Birth rates have fallen seriously low
That’s not just a dip. That’s a whole country nowhere near replacing itself. It's a massive problem for the country
So Singapore is going directly after the biggest things making parenthood harder: money, time, childcare and housing
Money:
- Every Singaporean child will receive around S$70,000 in direct financial support from birth to age 17
- S$10,000 Baby Gift during the first year
- S$2,000 every year from age 1 to 16.
- Plus MediSave, CDA support, Edusave and another S$10,000 education top-up at 17
- And every child gets the same baseline support regardless of whether they’re the first or fourth child
Time:
Childcare leave is increasing to:
• 8 days for one child
• 10 days for two
• 12 days for three or more
And it now covers children all the way through age 12.
The government will cover the cost of statutory child-related leave up to the reimbursement limit, taking that burden off employers
Housing:
- First-time families will get an extra BTO ballot chance for every child they have or are expecting.
- More kids = more chances of securing a home.
The BTO income ceiling is also rising from S$14,000 to S$16,000
Childcare:
- Government-supported full-day childcare is being pushed toward S$150/month and infant care toward S$300/month by 2030
Cash alone was never going to fix collapsing birth rates.
Singapore is attacking the actual friction around having children: the cost, the time, childcare and getting a home
If you want people to have more children, make having children easier
Singapore is actually trying that
Kudos to my friend Revant @foodpharmer2 for the simply straight Brilliant answer given to Arnab ji 🔥🔥🔥
We need someone to call out sugar coated marketing, create label reading awareness & encourage Indians to question their food & ingredients.

₹32 crore could have made the difference between closure and survival for 100–125 Marathi-medium schools, according to Supreme Court Justice Prasanna B Varale.
Speaking at an event in Maharashtra’s Dhule district, Justice Varale flagged the state’s shrinking education budget and questioned whether a fraction of spending on large public projects could have been redirected towards basic school infrastructure.
He pointed to ₹32,000–34,000 crore allocated for the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, saying just 0.1% around ₹32 crore could have kept 100–125 Marathi-medium schools from shutting down. He also cited ₹11,000 crore allocated for a corridor project.

Guys, this is me:-
1) I had bought (all inclusive) villa at 2Cr. The villa now sells for 2.7-2.8Cr. This I bought roughly 3 years ago.
2) This is a 3BHK, which goes at 6000/night
3) This is quite reasonable (this is 2000/room)
4) I give it to an AirBnB management firm that pays me close to 1L/month. This puts a 6% yield.
5) Their unit economics for people running AirBnB:-
- Average occupancy 65% (villa <1 km from beach)
- # of days rented= 237
- 237 *6000= 14.23L
6) I did not buy the villa from a builder.
7) I have no interest in selling it.
8) Writing this post: because people will start tagging me that "Go, Goa, Gone".
Not really, Goa is big. And, it has different areas.
There was a correction in NORTH Goa properties. Not in South Goa. I had already warned enough people not to buy in North.
The properties here were being built for and sold to tourists.
Lesson #1 in RE investing is: that if you by wrong price, you would never make money on it.
Unless you understand the numbers don't buy RE anywhere in the world. It is as simple as that.
I have no interest in selling my Goa properties. Or promoting south/north. XYZ locations.
I felt this was needed that I clarified my stand with numbers. Which I am doing on this post.
Buy/not buy anywhere you like. I just wanted to set the correct context.
Selling options is a game-changer for NRIs. If you are well tax structured:-
1) You can pay 0% tax on options selling.
2) Sell portfolio secured calls.
3) Use your cash flows to sell cash secured puts.
How to do this? Simple words:-
- Say you like Msft stock. And, you want to buy it.
- You don't want to buy it at current price of 500$
- But, are okay: at 450$
So you sell a "cash" secured put option at 450$ (this is 10% OTM).
In the US Market, you can do this on 1 month, 3 month, 1 year basis. The yields would easily be 8-10% in $ terms. This you get paid irrespective of whatever happens to Msft stock.
Now some would say: this is dangerous. Maybe.
The more nuanced question is for whom?
1) You anyways wanted to acquire Msft at a predefined price.
2) You get paid for waiting for that price drop.
3) If your portfolio is decent sized, you can run this as a system.
Capital becomes your alpha.
2nd problem: setting up an options desk is hyper complicated. All these terms like Put, Call will confuse you.
You know why? because you are trying to do Options "trading". That's not what I advising you to learn. I am advising you to learn Options investing.
There are at least 50-60% times in the market: when you know a stock is stretched. But, it keeps running.
You get impatient and buy it. And, that is where you make a mistake.
A better approach is: to change your acquisition strategy on such stocks by using options.
This is precisely what I teach on my investment communities also.
