Freedom fighter Pandit Ram Kisan Ji arrived at Jantar Mantar for the protest. His presence energized and strengthened the movement.
Every generation stands together in this fight for justice.
Please do watch this reel to understand the kind of effort, common citizens have put in to save Mumbai's natural frontiers. It's damn tough to fight a losing battle! Despite the odds posed by a cavalier and corrupt State—it's this love for the city which will ensure her survival!
Kavya's team spent several days in Delhi's Mayapuri, a slum home to 25 lakh people located between Asia's largest junk market and active railway lines.
When I saw this video, it broke my heart. Why are so many people forced to live like cockroaches?

My heart breaks to see crass Modi demolish Udyog Bhavan to build his pet Gujarati architect's ugly Central Secretariat Bldg. Bhavan was pride of Independent India's Indo Saracenic art, Rajasthani Chhatris & Chhajas blended with Europe's Beaux-Arts and Neo-classical architecture
Fix India's Public Spaces And You'll Fix India's Soul - Aniket Bhagwat
Your home is fine. Your office is fine. But the second you step outside?
Broken roads. Flooded drains. Missing manhole covers. Non-functional traffic lights. Footpaths that go nowhere.
This is where India lets us down in the public realm.
And here's the hard truth: when architects and clients say “it's just a public project, let's spend less” they are designing a lesser society. Public spaces deserve more investment, not less. Because everyone uses them. Everyone is affected by them.
Look at what happened to our airports. Clean. Organized. Functional. Beautiful. And notice how differently you feel walking through them.
That's not an accident. That's design doing its job.
Fix the public realm and India will feel like a different country.
“How you design a public land is how you design a society.”

I left for bombay at 6.30 am like the hard working professional that I am & stopped the car at 7 am to make this reel as I’ve long realised that silence is not a virtue & one must speak up when they are disrespected. Yes if wrong things happen at any workplace that are against basic human rights, me & all of us should speak up. I don’t care about the personal trolling, I’m used to it last 5 years since shark tank but the purpose of this reel is to request all the proud Indians in this country to start speaking up when they see something wrong, out of humanity, out of patriotism. Jai hind. Now off to another joyful & complex day at work !
Why are urban Indians not using the metro as much?
1. Most commuters are lower-middle-class, metro ticket is too expensive for them
2. lack of connectivity to and from metro station, both from homes and offices
3. Wrong cities were prioritized, where demand is too low
@larsentoubro Now for the video mentioned in the beginning - Citizens asking @mybmc officials for permissions. This is exactly why authorities are racing to cut before citizens and courts can stop them. The campaign is working. Let's keep it up.
#SaveMumbaiMangroves#CharkopMangroves
@larsentoubro Under Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act, cutting mangroves is a criminal offence. Up to 5 years imprisonment and Rs 1 lakh fine. The law exists. It just never applies to those destroying our city. Citizens always foot the bill - with their health and their lives.
Meanwhile @larsentoubro has already dumped construction waste and barrels into the mangroves, in direct violation of CRZ clearance conditions. In a protected coastal zone. Apparently, rules are just suggestions.
Where is the DFO? Where is the Mangrove Cell now?
Now look at what the #MumbaiCoastalRoad actually is. Twin underground tunnels of 3.66 km between Mindspace and Charkop. A cut-and-cover tunnel. A cable-stayed bridge. Elevated roads and major interchanges. All on reclaimed sea land.
Linear project? Not by any legal definition.
A 'linear project' means narrow strip infrastructure like roads, pipelines or railways through forest land. It allows faster clearances under the Forest Conservation Act. This label is misused as a deliberate shortcut to avoid the scrutiny this project legally demands.
No boundary demarcation on site. No 4-foot RCC pillars fixed. No DFO supervision. Trees are being cut in the open, unmarked and unnumbered. This is illegal regardless of any permission.
The tenders for cutting agencies are NOT awarded yet. DFO/MDNK/61/A, B, E, F 2025-26 are all still under financial evaluation. No agency has been officially hired. So who exactly is cutting these trees?
