His name was Satyendra Dubey.
He topped Bihar in Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.
He cleared JEE and went to IIT Kanpur.
He joined the Indian Engineering Service.
In 2002 he was posted as Project Director at the National Highways Authority of India in Jharkhand.
His job was to oversee the Golden Quadrilateral highway project.
India’s biggest infrastructure project at the time.
What he found was shocking.
Substandard materials. Inflated bills. Contractors looting public money.
He wrote a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office exposing everything.
He asked for one thing. That his identity be kept secret.
The PMO leaked his name.
On November 27 2003 he was shot dead in Gaya Bihar.
He was 27 years old.
Two years later India passed the Right to Information Act.
Ten years later India passed the Whistleblowers Protection Act.
Both laws exist because of Satyendra Dubey.
He never got to see either of them.
This Aussie team may not be great but they are very tactically astute. They have out-thought England in team selection and game awareness. Winning is what matters at the end. #TheAshes
I think England should draw some lessons from the India series last year and pick themselves up here. There is still a lot to play for but they will have to be switched on. #engvsaus#TheAshes
Touring Australia has been very difficult since India toured in 2021/22. 1st test is Perth then the 2nd test is the pink ball. In a 5 match series visiting teams find themselves 0-2 down just like England find themselves. Kinda tells you the importance of winning the Perth test.
Won't be a bad idea for England to call @imVkohli as a consultant to get their ashes campaign back on track. He knows exactly what it takes to absorb the pressure over there. With 2 weeks to Brisbane time for some drastic measures.
Wow really interesting read.
Hinduism might actually be a true collaborative gift (not an imposition of invasions) to future generations of India by its initial inhabitants.
Diversity is truly ingrained in our ethos.

Very bizzare test match...could India have drawn this? There were only 8 overs left in the day when it ended...in test match mode draw can be as precious as a win... It is psychological as well
Time for deep introspection and capacity development. Introspection is for the media btw.!!
Besides COVID-19, India is also fighting with vulture journalists, who are spreading more panic and despair than pandemic https://t.co/up24VDtWCs via @theaustoday
England's calendar:
Sri Lanka - 2 tests
England in India - 4 tests
NZ in England - 2 tests
India in England - 5 tests
Ashes - 4 tests (then the New Year Test in 2022)
Total of 17 tests this year
Going to be a fascinating year.
Add to it the WTC final. Big year this!

Very impressed with the depth of England's bowling resources...right from the Sri Lanka series they have stuck to their rotation policy and may end up being the key to success this year with the Ashes and heavy summer...

Another exilerating day's play
Don't think India played badly except the poor fielding...this is another opportunity to fight from a backs to the wall situation. I feel there is a fightback coming from Pant's showing today.
@flyspicejet
All norms of boarding and social distancing flouted on your flight....
People wearing PPE after getting inside the flight and not even instructed to do so.
No adherence to norms whatsoever.
Having had to travel multiple times in the pandemic, the laxity in following protocols, both by authorities and the general public is very obvious. Social distancing at the Mumbai airport was non existent, did not see enough personnel sanitizing seating areas or at security check
China is taking full advantage of free press in India. Releasing the stories that further its agenda. They use our free market economies and look at the trade imbalance...this is an omni-channel comprehensive strategy running like a well-oiled machine
It was a pre-meditated attack then and now a systematic propaganda. Our media is running with the 10 Indian hostage story. There was another story on ~40 Chinese soldiers falling into a ravine that will never be picked up. Our media is right now a puppet in the Chinese game.
Eastern Ladakh has become strategic because of its proximity to OBOR. Control of Galwan will give Chinese advantage of monitoring Indian movements on the DSDBO road and access to the Karakoram Range. This is a diplomacy and military challenge for India to keep China at bay.
The Chinese have betrayed our trust. But they did it because they felt vulnerable because of Indian Infrastructure in Galwan (DSDBO road and the road to PP14). Let's redraw rules of engagement on the ground and be very weary of the Chinese war machinery.
