👋MEET THE TEAM👋
Meet @FearsExperience. Luke studies terrestrial microplastics using dissection microscopy, investigating the presence of plastic in locations including Anglesey and Snowdonia as well as at the ability of constructed treatment wetlands to retain microplastics.
👨🔬MEET THE TEAM👨🔬
Meet @JeddOwensMRes, postgraduate researcher at @BangorSNS! Jedd focuses on #microplastic in terrestrial environments including devising methods for extraction and analysis and using this method to test rivers the length and breadth of the UK for microplastic!
👋 MEET THE TEAM!👋
Dr Adam Charlton's researches the production of value added materials from biomass, including packaging, with an interest in biorefining. He is PI at @BangorUni for the BEACON project, a £32mn initiative investigating bio-refining in Wales
Mae Canolfan ymchwil newydd wedi'i sefydlu ym Mhrifysgol Bangor i astudio problem gynyddol gwastraff plastig. @PRCWales yw'r cyntaf o'i bath yn y wlad ac mae'n dwyn ynghyd amrywiaeth eang o academyddion, myfyrwyr, sefydliadau a diwydiannau.

A new research Centre has been established to study the growing problem of #plastic waste.
@PRCWales is the first of its kind in the country and brings together a wide variety of academics, students, organisations & industries.

👋MEET THE TEAM👋
Meet @DrSPNeill, Professor of oceanography at @sos_bangor_uni. Primarily an ocean modeller, Simon is interested in renewable energy, sediment transport and the dispersal of organisms and particles in the marine environment.
👋MEET THE TEAM👋
Meet @_niahjones, a @NERCscience funded PhD student at @sos_bangor_uni. Nia is researching into how we can model the movement of #microplastic around our marine and coastal environments, investigating where #plasticpollution comes from, and where it goes!
Great opportunity for anyone thinking of coming to @BangorUni for a postgraduate taught course or research project.
If you're interested in doing a Masters on #peatlands, #wetland science / ecology, or waterborne #microplastics, please get in-touch.
👋MEET THE TEAM👋
Peter is a physical oceanographer with focus on modelling catchment-to-coast processes and how these influence flood risk, sediment dynamics & water quality. This includes particle tracking for marine plastics within the NERC Plastics-Vector project.
👋MEET THE TEAM👋
Prof. Peter Golyshin is Chair in Environmental Genomics at @BangorUni and a Scientific Director of the @CEB_Bangor, a £7.8 M Welsh Government-co-funded project and is involved in NERC-funded Plastic Vectors project.
👋MEET THE TEAM👋
Meet @bangorsoil! His research is on understanding microplastics in agricultural systems & their transfer. He runs the long-term microplastics field trial site at the Henfaes Experimental Station which is investigating the impact of microplastics on soil health.
