went to visit my friend this afternoon. She’s getting married in May.
While I was there, she started shouting at her dad… so I quietly stood up to leave. Her dad asked me to sit back down.
The issue?
He wants the wedding moved from Lagos to their village in Abia State.
My friend was upset. She said her friends won’t be able to come. She kept asking her dad how he could change the location just like that, and what she would tell her husband’s family.
Her dad said he would transport 10 people.
She got even more emotional and asked, “Is it only 10 people I know in Lagos?”
Then he turned to me and asked,
“Ada, will you come if the wedding is in Abia State?”
I answered honestly:
“My dad won’t allow me travel for now.”
He got upset, walked me out, and said I’m the one teaching his daughter “strange things.”
Now I’m wondering…
Was I wrong for answering him like that? 🤔
There’s a man in my neighborhood who has been raising his two sons alone since his wife passed away 💔. The boys are 23 and 19.
He hustles daily, driving a korope around Egbeda, and even tried to place them in workshops to learn a trade, but they refused. Lately, he started noticing changes .... they suddenly began buying expensive things, upgraded their wardrobes, and even showed off an iPhone 16 at the same time. That alone made him suspicious, so he seized their phones.
Earlier today, things took another turn when he found black soap and some other items in their room, which raised more concerns. When he questioned them, the older son responded confidently, saying he’s doing what he believes is right. According to him, at least he’s not stealing or causing problems in the neighborhood, and he’s only trying, in his own way, to lift his father out of years of struggle.
The situation, however, escalated quickly. The father, clearly worried and unsettled, decided to involve the police, and both boys were taken away.
Since then, the whole neighborhood has been divided, with many people debating whether calling the police was truly the right decision.
The duo!
OMG! They made me cry like a baby! Especially where Oluchi said she was going to use keke to take the kids to school and also bring them back using keke.
The part where Funke tried to lay them off and she went 'you fit pay me anything wey you want, I go stay'.
