I think that having the courage and grit to push through a project, a vision, a career, or a plan you desire without the experience or prior knowledge of it, is something that should be highlighted more when we are telling success stories.
I have lived second guessing my self, not bold to ask, bothered about what people thought.
I have also lived pushing myself even in disbelief and fear, being expressive and not always bothering about what people may think.
I would pick the later over and over again.
Back in my secondary school days, I lived by this bookπ, to the extent I quote most of its excerpts to my friends when ever I had conversations with them. One I remembered was the Lord Acton quote 1887, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
Have you ever done that thing were you demean a "quirky original" just because it is isn't polished enough for the "social Media standard" but deep down you wanted to appreciate it, because youβd hope for that same grace if it were you?
I met you again.
Time folded in on itself
and for a moment,
we were us.
The version that laughed without fences.
You spoke of her name carefully,
like something sacred,
You are held now
by someone chosen,
I am happy for you,
truly.
Happiness is not the enemy.
