Kim Taehyung’s influence is undeniable. His name organically generates interest, conversation, and engagement. However, “influence alone does not replace active support for his musical projects.”
Taehyung is, above all, a singer. Music is his primary form of expression and his most significant role within the industry. Every stream, purchase, share, and instance of promotion for his work helps translate the cultural impact he already possesses into concrete results for his artistic career.
If we admire his voice, his musicality, and his vision as an artist, we must support not only the phenomenon he represents but also the music he creates.
Because relevance opens doors. Yet, it is support for the artist and his art that ensures he continues to walk through those doors and reach new heights.
When people ask which artist could replicate Kim Taehyung’s results without massive record label promotion, the answer hinges on something fundamental: his relevance is not built from the top down.
It emanates from within him. It finds a direct response among the public. It fosters connection, recognition, and resonance.
And that is precisely why fan support is so important.

Artistic Prominence and competition among fandoms?!? It's embarrassing, but... 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
One of the most intriguing aspects of the Arirang Tour isn't just how Kim Taehyung dominates the conversation in every country, but inevitably encountering Taehyung's popularity through the lens of various fandoms. It’s like watching other fandoms go into a total meltdown every time it happens. All I see is an inability to come to terms with Taehyung taking center stage.
A pattern has emerged at every show: Taehyung goes viral for his voice, his ad-libs, his stage presence, his fan interactions, his outfits, his dancing, his charisma, his physique, his use of the local language, his exploration of the city's culture, for the fans' reaction, admiration, and demonstration of love for Tae, and his creation of spontaneous moments that leave the audience eagerly awaiting his next move. Consequently, many people tune in to every show just to see what Taehyung’s next standout moment will be.
Predictably, a legion of detractors emerges, trying to downplay what is impossible to hide. They dispute praise, attack those who talk about him, fabricate narratives, and turn any viral moment into a fandom war. When someone feels the need to combat every spontaneous display of an artist's popularity, it doesn't signal confidence in their own favorite — it signals insecurity.
The reality is simple: Taehyung commands attention because he delivers a show that captivates the audience. The rest are simply people unable to accept that, on a tour packed with talented artists, he is the one who repeatedly dominates the conversation before, during, and after every performance.
The greater the buzz around Taehyung, the more intense the reaction seems to be from those who cannot accept that he naturally draws so much attention. Ultimately, this obsession doesn't diminish Taehyung; it merely exposes the level of resentment and competitiveness that still taints part of K-pop fandom culture.
This is not the behavior of someone who appreciates music — that living, breathing art form — but rather the behavior of someone who views another artist's prominence as a threat to their own ego or their favorite artist.
These are some reactions rife with insults, comparisons, or attempts to belittle. One of the most intriguing things I observe in K-pop culture is this psychotic parallel world where a person — whether a mere music lover, a music professional, a member of the general public, or a fan — is denied the right to speak about Taehyung, praise him, or discuss what the media and social networks are highlighting about him.
None of that changes the reality witnessed by millions during the Arirang Tour. Kim Taehyung remains the most talked-about artist generating the biggest buzz on the tour, drawing immense attention from the public, the media, and social media in every city he visits. This does not diminish the talent or success of the other BTS members:
“RECOGNIZING ONE ARTIST'S IMPACT DOES NOT MEAN ERASING ANOTHER'S.”
Likewise, highlighting the countless accolades, global campaigns, and analyses identifying Taehyung as the most influential brand face of the decade — and one of the most influential figures in pop culture and Asian advertising — is not about manufacturing a narrative, but rather discussing widely reported facts and perceptions. Anyone following the tour's reception sees this happening right before their eyes. Personal attacks do not change this reality.
P.S.: As a wise contemporary of mine told me: “take it as a compliment. The company has spent years spinning a fabricated narrative. You have to let them cry. They don’t want the truth to be spoken, seen, or pointed out.”
