💡Exploring ERBB2/HER2 in cholangiocarcinoma! 🧬

Through a Virtual Mobility Grant from COST Action CA22125 (#PrecisionBTCNetwork), researchers investigated ERBB2 expression, genomic alterations, prognostic value and immune associations to advance precision oncology.

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

🌍 Released to coincide with World Cholangiocarcinoma Day, the video helped raise awareness of this rare and under-recognised cancer, highlighting the importance of making scientific knowledge accessible to a wider audience.

🔬 Precision-BTC Mobility Grants Spotlight
Meet Natalia Soledad Tissera, STSM Grantee from VHIO, Barcelona, who completed her mission at UCL & UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre, London, under the supervision of Prof. John Bridgewater.

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

During her stay, Natalia:
🧬 Gained experience in clinical research and trial implementation.
🔬 Contributed to an international 84-patient study on dMMR/MSI-H biliary tract cancer.
📊 Supported work on the BILCAP dataset and future research on early recurrence.

📢 New publication!
We’re pleased to have supported the open access publication of this international collaborative study on matched targeted therapies following first-line chemoimmunotherapy in advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC).

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

📈 Matched targeted therapy improved outcomes after chemoimmunotherapy failure, particularly in second line.

📌 These findings show how early molecular profiling in advanced BTC is key to identifying actionable alterations and guiding timely targeted treatment.

🚨 Applications are now OPEN for the 2026–27 Precision-BTC Network/ENS-CCA/ICRN Mentorship Program!

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

🧬 A 6-month virtual programme connecting young researchers, clinicians and nurses with experienced mentors, while bringing together professionals committed to advancing the future of biliary tract cancer research.

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

His work included miR-96 transfection and the assessment of proliferation, apoptosis, cell-cycle arrest, migration and mitochondrial respiration.

Thank you, Gonçalo, for sharing your experience, and to everyone who made this scientific exchange possible! 🙌

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

Meet Gonçalo Carvalho, an MSc student from the Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Lisboa, who completed a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) from Lisbon, Portugal, to San Sebastián, Spain.

[Precision-BTC-Network @PrecisionBTCnet]

During his mission, Gonçalo investigated the functional effects of microRNAs in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), combining:
🔬 Bioinformatic analysis of miRNA expression
🧪 In vitro assessment of miRNA modulation
🧬 In vivo validation of selected miRNAs
