Facts and truth

@twitter undr Dorsey n his team were in repeated n continuous violations of India law. As a matter of fact they were in non-compliance with law repeatedly from 2020 to 2022 and it was only June 2022 when they finally complied.

No one went to jail nor was twitter "shutdown".

Dorseys Twitter regime had a problem accepting the sovereignty of Indian law.

It behaved as if the laws of India did not apply to it.

India as a sovereign nation has the right to ensure that its laws are followed by all companies operating in India.

During the protests in January 2021, there was a lot of misinformation and even reports of genocide which were definitely fake.

GoI was obligated to remove misinformation from the platform because it had the potential to further inflame the situation based on fake news.

Such was the level of partisan behaviour on Twitter under Jack regime, that they had a problem removing misinformation from the platform in India, when they did it themselves when similar events took place in the USA.

To set the record straight, no one was raided or sent to jail. Our focus was only on ensuring the compliance of Indian laws.

There is ample evidence now in public domain abt Jacks twitter's arbitrary, blatantly partisan n discriminatory conduct and misuse of its power on its platform during that period.

Twitter under Dorsey was not just violating Indian law, but was partisan in how it was using "deamplify" n deplatforming of some arbitrarily in violation of Art 14,19 of our constitution and also assisting in weaponising of misinformation.

Our govts policies remain clear for all Intermediaries operating in India - compliance with laws to ensure Internet is Safe&Trusted, Accountable .

Railway Ministers in the past resigned (few, not all), gained sympathy, escaped & went on to hold plum posts.

Some instances.

1956 : Ariyalur Train Accident
Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned but this was after more than 5 train accidents. However, later becomes Prime Minister of India.

1999 : Gaisal Train Accident
Nitish Kumar resigned but after more than 6 accidents. However, later becomes rail Minister again & also currently serves as Chief Minister of Bihar.

2000 : Howrah-Amritsar Rail accident.
Mamata Bannerjee was rail Minister. She infact becomes Rail Minister again in 2009 & now CM of West Bengal.

What we need is not resignation.

Anand Bhavan the Nehru family home ( now owned by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Trust with Sonia Gandhi as its President) in which the #Sengol was displayed before its recovery for its restoration to Parliament is already embroiled in a house tax issue for Rs 4.35 crores with the local municipality. Seems the house tax demand was due to the fact that the Bhavan was being used for commercial purposes! But here’s the twist in the #Sengol issue: the display inscription of the #Sengol in Anand Bhavan describes the Sengol as a “gift” to Nehru from Mountbatten. The Congress (notably my glib of tongue friend Jairam Ramesh) is at pains to point out that the narrative of the Sengol as a symbol of transfer of power is a fake one spun by the BJP. Seems to me a major reason for this Congress defence is a cover up for a case of blatant misappropriation of a priceless symbol of India’s sovereignty by passing off the Sengol as a gift to Nehru. The Sengol thus becomes property belonging to the Nehru family. That is why the property was displayed in Anand Bhavan which is proclaimed as a museum for “Nehru memorabilia “ Remember the JNMT which owns Anand Bhavan is a pvt trust controlled by the Gandhi family. The usual family lust for Indian wealth?
