The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, has declared Saturday, 15th August 2026, as a public holiday throughout the country in observation of the Christian feast of Assumption Day, Commonly known as ‘Sang Marie’.

The President toured the Agro Logistics Centre in MakaFarafeni, a facility designed to support farmers with storage for perishable produce, processing, and market access.
