An excerpt from my new book:
Brónmal hated the Northlands. Even as High Summer approached, it still snowed.
Standing on the dock, he watched the ships arrive from Mednodorn across the Gisjaf Sea. The sea calmly stirred. The salty, icy winds swept past and made Brónmal shiver.
A Glimpse Into Another World
Fjandgarth, one of the few habitable regions in the far north, is the homeland of the grey-skinned Throfi people. Between the deep valleys and looming mountains, the northerners scrape by through a short growing season in a land full of monsters.
Character sheets.
Write down about your characters: their physical features, their age, their past, and their personality. Then, integrate these traits into the story to help fill and shape them out as people.
You want to give people a feeling of reading about real people.
E.T. Gunnarsson, in his novel, Forgive Us, provides a post-apocalyptic world that is dark, harsh, violent, and shatteringly plausible. Gunnarson offers a new element to this trope that breathes fresh horror into it.
