The Good Old Days when flamboyant word extravaganza & gymnastics was confined to Saturday night light entertainment & not matters of national destiny.
@canontonyd@RuthieGledhill No my purging is strictly limited, and being a Cromwellian I aspire to wide freedom of conscience. As I say, seems admirable in many ways. Yes, a combination of a bleary morning , my seventeenth century sloppiness with spelling and being a rubbish speller.
@GoebelGreg Can you please direct me to a discussion the liturgical issues. I am make no claim to understand the theological ones ( or indeed any theological ones) but I think I get the gist of some of that.
@canontonyd@RuthieGledhill Don’t denigrate Newman. The little I know shows much to admire. But true to my Cromwellianism must observe that if he favoured saccharine coated institutionalised hypocracies then he may have been keen on the EU.
@JolyonMaugham@RuthieGledhill Tacit incitement - is that same as passive aggressive : like continuing to foment hostility whilst ignoring an apparently quite reasonable defence to grave allegations?
Rumpole thou shouldst be living at this hour.
The bar hath need of thee!
@honest_nobody@simonapcliff I wish!!! And I’d do it at seventeenth century rates to, provided I get frictionless transfer back when I’ve done my duty for old England and can sleep for another 350 years!!!
