Next is the Beyond the Gates Award for a student who impacted on the DC community. This year's recipient is Katerina Marroquin who has worked with the CSJ on LGBTQ unhoused individuals and is currently studying the intersection of Latinx and queer identities. Congrats Katerina!

Today, GU Pride invites you all to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance. We urge you to read the following bios, and to mourn those we have lost not as a statistic, or a cause, but as members of our community.

There are many more victims that go unreported. This is an epidemic and we must take the time to say their names and know their stories. Their memories must live on. Today we mourn, but please take time to materially support our Trans siblings in life.
