Hi 👋 We're the Pride Liberation Project, the student-led group that led walkouts to challenge Youngkin's hate. We've also:
✍️ Lobbied school boards & the General Assembly
📣 Mobilized 10,000s of students
📗 Fought book bans
Help us continue our work:

⌛️PARENTS & STUDENTS⌛️
We have ONE DAY until our info session on Trans Resilience in the Classroom: VDOE Model Policies.
Join us tomorrow alongside @PrideLiberation, @HeSheZeandWe, @EqualityVA, and Side by Side in the fight for a safe, welcoming school environment for ALL. 🏳️⚧️
Let's be clear: we're not going to accept Youngkin's Don't Be Trans guidelines. Students will be taking actions in the next coming weeks to pressure school boards to reject these guidelines.

🧵Yesterday, Youngkin's DOE finalized the largest reversal of Queer student rights in VA history.
Don't Be Trans:
❌ Condones bullying by allowing malicious deadnaming and misgendering
❌ Forcibly outs Queer students
❌ Bans transgender-inclusive facilities
If you can't treat students with respect and kindness, then you don't belong in the room.
If you refuse to listen to students, then your opinions about our public schools are ignorant and should be ignored.

Virginia students see through Glenn Youngkin’s platitudes.
His education policy plays politics with students lives, and GenZ is going to hold him accountable.
Glenn Youngkin just fumbled around on CNN trying to justify his harmful education policy that targets students.
@PrideLiberation was outside protesting his attacks and @genratifyva was inside asking him the hard questions.
VA youth showed up tonight. We won't ever back down.
Glenn Youngkin claims to believe in “small government,” but supports government censorship of libraries and extremist abortion bans.
Callie Walsh’s student perspective on this issue should be amplified, but Glenn Youngkin doesn’t care about Virginia students. #CNNTownHall
Even if a parent supports their student's gender identity, that wouldn't be enough for a school to recognize a student's correct pronouns and names.
Youngkin's guidance is a license to discriminate in our schools, no matter how many platitudes he talks in
A trans student named Niko asked Gov. Youngkin about his policies on transgender students.
Niko’s dad supports him. And yet, that parental support would be overruled by the guidance that Youngkin’s administration released without any input from parents or educators.
“Your transgender policies require students play on the sports teams and use the restrooms that correspond with their sex assigned at birth. . Look at me, I am a transgender man. Do you think the girls in my high school would feel comfortable sharing a restroom with me? “
28 percent of Queer youth experience housing insecurity at some point in their lives.
We didn't get to ask a question at the #CNNTownhall. But if we did, we'd ask why Glenn Youngkin wants to out every Queer student, regardless of how safe it is for them?
As Youngkin talks to a national audience about his education record, let's remember how he treats Queer students. He wants to:
❌ Forcibly out students
❌ Implement a trans bathroom ban
❌ Misgender and deadname students
Students are fighting back. Retweet if you're with us.
Let’s have a real conversation about what Virginia’s K-12 schools are like for trans and nonbinary students under Governor Youngkin’s leadership. Because we need to #LetKidsLearn.
"Today, CNN is hosting a town hall with Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin on education policy. In response, dozens of Virginia students will be rallying outside CNN demanding Governor Youngkin stop attacking students for political gain." https://t.co/IigidZKnYJ h/t @PrideLiberation
The @PrideLiberation Project held a protest outside of @CNN headquarters in D.C. ahead of @GovernorVA Glenn Youngkin’s town hall on education. High schoolers here tell me they don’t feel heard and are being hurt by Youngkin’s transgender policies.
