“The only pathways kids should be on until well into their teens are footpaths. The idea that a 12-year-old is on the pathway to a professional sports career is ridiculous and speaks only to parental obsession , not reality.” https://t.co/YWBzeu2eD3
“Kids will have periods where they plateau/or grow quickly, they improve rapidly/or get worse. All part o/t sporting process. The latter one is difficult for coaches&parents but reality. 1 thing is clear, current/early sporting performance isn’t a good indicator of future success.”
Wow we just scored a huge TRY!!! 🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉

@chairmick As the rules were not to be shared with the wider game we were collating feedback from leagues to discuss and amend to produce the final version of rules for 2020. The rule would have therefore been amended before these were sent out and shared with the wider game.
@chairmick There was an error in point 8 when the proposals were set out originally to leagues, it had not been updated to mirror the U10 rules for 2019. There have since been further changes to that rule and others following feedback and discussion.
There seems to be some confusion around the PRL rules at U11s for 2020. These have yet to be finalised and will be a progression from the U10s rules in 2019. Teams will not complete a set of 6 regardless of errors or tries.
@ptglover@Julie_Devanney@barla1973@TheRFL@ThattoRugby @ThattoU10 @chairmick Whatever you have seen these are not the final rules for U11s in 2020, they will not play out all 6 tackles regardless of errors or tries. The rules have yet to be finalised and released to the community game.

We all want our children to succeed, we all want them to be the very best they can be. It is also pretty cool if they are thriving with their sport at a young age. However...

“If you put a child on an adult’s bicycle, they’ll say, ‘are you crazy?’ But this is what happens in football, we ask them to play 11 v 11 or 8 v 8 at a very young age. They are not able to do it.” https://t.co/VJke9QCZUw
