One of the highlights of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 Business Engagements Tour in Mexico was our meeting with the Council for Economic Development of Sinaloa (CODESIN).

Our discussions focused on strengthening economic collaboration, encouraging investment, and identifying new opportunities to expand the partnership between Arizona and Sinaloa.

A special thank you to the entire CODESIN team for being such outstanding hosts. Bringing a taste of Sinaloa to Mexico City through its hospitality, culture, and traditions made this gathering truly memorable and brought great joy to our Arizona delegates. It was a wonderful reminder that strong business relationships are built not only through meetings, but also through meaningful cultural connections.

One of the greatest honors of my life was recently being called to testify before a U.S. House Judiciary field hearing in Arizona.

Members of Congress traveled to our state to hear firsthand testimony from citizens, and I was proud to do my duty as an American by sharing my perspective.

Our democracy works best when citizens are willing to stand up, speak the truth, and engage in the process.

It was an honor to represent my community, my state, and the values that make America exceptional.

This weekend was truly special for me.

Being part of the President’s Day Retreat was not just an honor, it was a reminder of why relationships, dialogue, and shared purpose matter so much. Spending time with friends I’ve appreciated for many years, along with meeting new people who care deeply about our communities and our country, filled me with gratitude.

At one point, I couldn’t help but think about a quote from a good friend: “Our true strength thrives in our diversity.” Looking around the room, it was clear. Many of us don’t think the same, we come from different experiences, and we see the world through different lenses. Yet what unites us is far greater: a sincere desire to build a better America for the next generation.

It was also deeply meaningful to serve on the organizing committee alongside my longtime friend Carlos Alfaro, who continues to inspire by creating spaces where respectful debate and honest conversations can happen, even when we don’t always agree.

Weekends like this remind me that leadership is not about being the loudest voice, but about listening, learning, and walking forward together with respect and humility.

Grateful for the friendships, the conversations, and the renewed sense of purpose.
