@coynewriter@GolfersJournal Sorry mate, love your pub, but I watched some of your pebble round, and a bit of this one and couldn’t help but troll a bit. True golfers are all a bit pretentious I’d say, myself included. Let’s leave the golf demonstrations to the professionals eh? 😆
The great state of Georgia’s cotton farmers need support. Here’s an idea.
Every year, tens of millions of dollars in @TheMasters merchandise is sold during tournament week, most of it made from imported polyester and overseas supply chains from countries like China. Meanwhile, some of the finest cotton in the world is grown right in Georgia’s backyard.
For perspective, Augusta does roughly $70 million in merchandise sales during Masters week alone. Georgia cotton farmers lost an estimated $200 million on cotton in 2025. One of the world’s most influential golf institutions can help change that equation.
Augusta National Golf Club has an opportunity to do something meaningful: showcase and sell more products made from Georgia-grown cotton during tournament week. Simple, classic, elegant American products.
Doing so would support rural America, strengthen domestic manufacturing, and celebrate a natural fiber deeply connected to the history of both Augusta and the game of golf.
Georgia cotton helped build Augusta.
It’s time for Augusta to help support Georgia cotton.

@michaeljknowles They do not follow the teachings of Jesus, which makes them merciless when it comes to war and selfish when it comes to life in general,
Signs of old money on the golf course:
- a navy hat that is sun-bleached to the point where it looks tan
- khaki shorts that are an inch too long and fraying at the pockets
- FJ Icons (he stockpiled 10 pairs of them before they were discontinued)
- $3 Nassau
- "where do you summer?"
It’s a whole culture and commitment thing. My kids played lots of ball and I was always dragging them to practice when they didn’t want to (about half the time). You end up having a whole friend group centered around the sports. More birthday parties more blah more blah. Our first spring void of youth sports has been our best spring yet!
@UESgolf Ya might be light in the head askin any more than 100 per club there laddie. Just because you got ripped off doesn’t mean you need to do the same to some other poor covidian 😆
